The incumbent will be responsible for the overall operation and managerial oversight of the Fitness and Wellness program. Specific duties include: group fitness; personal training; small group training and other health, wellness and fitness programs for the UMBC Community; and perform other duties as assigned.
This position encompasses a wide variety of administrative and supervisory duties in the area of personnel, risk management, policy and procedures development and enforcement, program management, and statistical data collection and reporting. As part of the departmental professional staff, this position will handle tasks, projects, initiatives, and leadership in a manner that promotes student success and patron engagement.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Recreation or related field.
At least three years of experience working in fitness and wellness in campus recreation or other Fitness related setting. Previous experience supervising interns, fitness instructors and/or student staff
