The College of Education and Human Services at West Virginia University invites applications for the position of College Recruitment Specialist. This position is responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating recruitment activities within the College and at external events, streamlining and implementing the communication processes for student prospects, and developing plans for recruitment outreach based upon data and market analysis.
The College Recruitment Specialist will collaborate with department chairs and program coordinators in the College, as well as the College's Director of Marketing and Communications, WVU Undergraduate and Graduate Recruitment Offices, and WVU Online.
This position will report directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidates will:
Participate in on-campus and off-campus recruiting efforts for students in undergraduate, graduate, and online programs, within and outside of WV.
Develop and implement strategic plans for increasing enrollment and admissions in coordination with department chairs and program coordinators.
Assess the progress of the CEHS strategic plan for recruitment on an ongoing basis.
Develop and implement appropriate communication plans for on-campus and online student recruitment.
Initiate and implement strategies to increase support for student recruiting.
Manage fiscal resources needed to support the CEHS strategic recruitment plan in line with authorized budget.
Use University software platforms to manage and document inquiries for programs within CEHS.
Meet regularly with CEHS undergraduate, graduate, and online recruitment committees.
Deliver exceptional customer service to all prospective students by sending targeted emails, mailing information packets, placing phone calls, etc.
Serve as a liaison between CEHS and WVU Online, Office of Admissions, Enrollment Management, University Registrar, Financial Aid, etc.
Communicate trends, patterns, policies, etc., that may impact CEHS recruitment and retention efforts to the Associate Dean, department chairs, program coordinators, etc.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative institutional research, data analysis, and benchmarking that informs enrollment management information relevant to recruitment.
Implement CEHS strategic plan for diversifying the student body.
Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.
At least 2 years directly related experience in the following areas: o Experience working with academic programs in higher education. o Experience developing strategies for successful student recruitment. o Experience in strategic planning. o Experience working with online interaction and social media
Accomplished organizational skills necessary in coordinating and overseeing recruitment and enrollment processes.
Self-motivation and dedication to the completion of responsibilities.
Excellent time-management skills required in managing an extensive workload, multiple projects, requests, deadlines, etc.
Positive, results oriented attitude.
Ability to act independently to accomplish tasks and implement solutions to problems without direct supervision.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with others.
Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software.
Ability to attend after-hours and weekend recruitment events a venues inside and outside of West Virginia.
Ability to communicate clearly and make a positive impression with prospective students.
Ability to conduct institutional research, data analysis, and benchmarking.
Utilization of social media for the purpose of connecting prospective and admitted students to the College.
