1. Develop, implement and monitor departmental policies and procedures to optimize physician reimbursement and ensure billing compliance for Yale Medicine. 2. Regularly review billing and coding activity for the Department of Surgery divisions and sections: A. Develop and provide on a regular basis comprehensive summary level and detailed reports of payment history, rejection analysis, and status of unpaid claims. B. Monitor surgery case logs for delayed coding. C. Provide recommendations to revenue cycle and operational leaders and piers on operational improvement to enhance the efficiency of coding and reimbursement. D. Provide specialized technical analysis utilizing various sources of data in order to deliver meaningful historic and projected clinical revenue and productivity information to various internal and external customers. E. Perform coding and reimbursement audits. 3. Coordinate preference list/charge capture changes needed between the providers and the Epic PB Analysts. 4. Provide timely and accurate reports and dashboards in response to ad hoc request from department leadership. 5. Coordinate creation of new bills with the EPIC team, YMG and department finance for appropriate charge linkage and revenue mapping. 6. Develop a method of prioritizing revenue cycle management issues via assessments of both financial and operational risk utilizing information from a variety of sources and providing specialized technical analysis to said data to create prioritized classifications. 7. Provide a high level of service that cultivates and maintains a strong working relationship with all internal and external customers.
