Housing and Residence Life anticipates to hire 40 temporary staff. The anticipated length of the temporary assignment is ten to twelve weeks starting around May 6 and going until around August 31, 2019.
Responsibilities include the cleaning of residence halls and student apartments, vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping, dusting, waste removal, floor care and the cleaning of refrigerators and stoves. Provide stocking, cleaning and sanitizing of public restrooms. Performing strenuous manual labor such as operating heavy cleaning equipment and moving of furniture is part of this position. Being able to work in a team environment; being service oriented and communicating well with others (students, guests, and staff) is necessary.
Physical activities include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and visual acuity.
Minimum Experience / Education:
High school diploma or GED
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
