The University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking candidates for several faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor commensurate with experience and qualifications. All positions are without tenure due to funding (WOT). Selected faculty will be hired as either full- or part-time regular faculty and will have a 12-month service period. Selected faculty will work in one of two areas: (1) treatment of patients with mental health issues or substance abuse problems, in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, or (2) inpatient psychiatric attending work, hospital consultation, and outpatient consultation. The University of Washington has a variety of practice sites within the Seattle area and these faculty openings would be for Harborview Medical Center. We anticipate the first hire to take place in Summer of 2019.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Psychology (for those who will treat patients with mental health/substance abuse problems) or must have an M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent and completed training in psychiatry (for hospital consultation and inpatient psychiatric attending work).
Candidates holding a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Psychology are sought for the treatment of patients with mental health issues or substance abuse problems, in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
