Gannon University’s Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences Respiratory Care Program invites applications for a Director of Clinical Education. The appointment for this 12-month, teaching track position begins July 1, 2019. Qualified candidates are required to hold a master’s degree or higher in respiratory care, health science or health communication, education, leadership, or related field. Qualified candidates must also hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and current state license, have a minimum of four years’ experience as a RRT with at least two years in clinical respiratory care, and a minimum of years’ experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor. Candidates with a reputation of achievement in education, demonstrated leadership in respiratory care, active participation in relevant professional associations, and at least one specialized credential (NPS, ACCS, SDS, or other) are preferred. The successful candidate will provide clinical direction of the program in accordance with fulfilling the requirements for accreditation, assist with program planning and curriculum development, and provide didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, deliver instruction, advise students, and engage in University, professional, and community service activities. Ideally, candidates will have experience using course management systems for purposes of instruction and advising. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
