Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Patient Facilitated Services and Stewardship, in the Office of Development in the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S), Columbia University Irving Medical Center, the Operations Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Patient Facilitated Services' and Stewardship teams.
The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for answering the phones, responding to emails, scheduling meetings (with follow up preparation of agenda and notification to participants); proof reading and/or editing donor acknowledgements, solicitation letters, special acknowledgment letters; drafting own correspondence(s) for review by supervisor; interpreting processed gift transmittals, assisting with prospect research and stewardship proposal development.
She/he will also assist with event stewardship and cultivation events including interacting with staff and external constituencies; preparing invitee lists and performing other related duties and special projects as assigned.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus two years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: The incumbent must be highly organized and professional, while possessing strong written and verbal communication skills. The incumbent should also have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a poised, mature, and professional nature while being able to interact with a broad spectrum of people.The candidate should be detail oriented, have superior organizational skills and be able to manage and prioritize a variety of projects at once. Should be resourceful, proactive, thorough, and have a focused, self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently and as a member of the team. Candidate should have the ability to lift heavy items such as boxes and packages, and unpack & sort items accordingly.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced experience with Microsoft Office software highly preferred. Proficient knowledge of PC systems and Windows software highly preferred.
