The School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Missouri – Kansas City seeks applications from board certified nurse practitioners for a 12-month ranked non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor or tenure-track Assistant Professor.
The candidate will be expected to:
teach in the MSN & DNP educational programs
lead in the development and instruction of didactic and clinical courses
provide service appropriate to the position;
advance the goals of the School of Nursing and the University of Missouri-Kansas City's Strategic Plan;
demonstrate expertise in practice.
To be considered for a tenure-track position, the candidate selected will be expected to:
meet all listed duties and qualifications
maintain an active program of scholarship and externally funded research conducive to achieve promotion and tenure
To be considered for this position, the applicant must have:
a Family Nurse Practitioner or Primary Care Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner with national certification
eligibility for unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse and document of recognition as NP in the state of Missouri
a minimum of 2 years NP experience
current NP clinical practice.
an earned doctorate in nursing (or within 6 months of receiving offer) or a related field – Applicants in a doctoral program will be considered but must have doctorate awarded prior to start date
¿Other Minimum Qualifications
excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
a willingness to contribute to teamwork for the advancement of the program and the School; and
experience and/or willingness to mentor graduate students.
a Doctorate in Nursing Practice
a record of quality teaching and service appropriate to rank;
expertise in nursing education and directing graduate students to success in scholarship;
expertise in clinical discipline.
Full Time/Part Time
Full-time, 40 hours per week
