General Description: The Major Gift Officer, Armour College of Engineering is a member of the Institutional Advancement (IA) team engaged in raising major, leadership and principal gifts for IIT. This individual is responsible for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and actively stewarding donors and prospects. The position reports to the Senior Director, Major Gifts and Campaign Director with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Dean of Armour College of Engineering. The Major Gift Officer is responsible for the qualification, cultivation and solicitation of $100,000+ gifts. The Officer's portfolio will be comprised of alumni and friends of Armour College of Engineering and university constituents. He/she will be expected to think strategically and creatively, on a case-by-case basis across an entire pool of upper-end prospects, to construct a set of initiatives and activities leading to the solicitation of an appropriate gift from each prospect. This will be accomplished both individually and in close coordination with relevant university administrators, faculty, and volunteers.
