The part-time Administrative Assistant provides general administrative support for the undergraduate and graduate academic programs and activities for the Technical Communication (TCM) program and TCM Writing Center. They also support the Graduate Programs in the Department of Technology, Leadership and Communication in the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI.
Responsibilities include scheduling appointments and meetings, database management, meeting preparation, scanning/copying, telecommunications, website management, textbook orders, processing requisitions and reimbursements, accessing the Student Information System (SIS) for entering student course authorizations, obtaining data from SIS, IUIE, and other sources, spreadsheet and database entry, preparing reports on programs and activities, and securing, maintaining, and filing confidential student and faculty information, plus other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED: High School Diploma, plus 12 months previous related office experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office, and proficiency in word processing, electronic calendaring, database/spreadsheet creation & management, and desktop publishing expected as well as excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Some college. Experience in academic environment.
