To oversee the management of traditional or suite style residence halls supervising and training Graduate Hall Directors and Resident Assistants. Primary responsibilities include coordinating hall programming, advising hall councils, adjudicating student conduct violations interpreting and enforcing policies and regulation of the University for the residence halls. Required to manage residence halls to include rotational duty on-call work schedules. This position may include a furnished apartment (pending availability) with utilities as part of the total compensation package. Annual salary in Hall Director positions will vary based on housing arrangements and the selected candidate's relevant education and experience. Hall Directors that chose to live on campus will have their salary adjusted down to compensate for living arrangements.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The primary purpose of the Housing and Residence Life department is to provide housing accommodations and a certain quality of life for approximately 4462 students. To provide living accommodations which are clean, safe, healthy, and comfortable while enhancing a certain quality of life, which supports the academic mission of North Carolina A&T State University. The Residence Life program is designed to provide an environment which supports students in their academic pursuits, encourages interpersonal development, and offers opportunities for individual growth and challenge. To provide a quality of life for on campus students through a clean, safe, educational environment. Responsible for the overall leadership and management of all residence halls, the assignments of rooms, occupancy status of halls, housekeeping needs, maintenance concerns, and budgets, including operating and programming.

Education and Experience Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or related field required. 2. Minimum of two years full time experience in a housing/residence life setting or other Student Life area. 3. Experience in supervising paraprofessional staff. 4. Experience in coordinating staff and student development programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Familiarity with the principles of community and student development and actively fosters an environment which reflects a sense of community, interpersonal responsibility in which students are effectively addressed. 2. Excellent written and oral communication skills. 3. Understanding of student development theory and its application in a residence life setting. 4. Working knowledge of university/residence life operations. 5. Knowledge of theoretical foundations of the student disciplinary process. 6. Knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office and Housing software. 7. Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Master's degree preferred.
