Rogue Community College seeks an innovative and experienced academic leader to fill the position of Nursing & Practical Nursing Program Director. Review of candidate materials will begin May 2019. Anticipated start date July 2019.
Rogue Community College is a public, three-campus, comprehensive community college serving two counties in beautiful southern Oregon. The rapidly growing region is an area of scenic beauty, exciting recreational and outdoor opportunities, and growing cultural diversity. The College offers two-year transfer degrees, career and technical training degrees/certificates; a variety of workforce and short-term programs and services, and academic basic skills and community education classes. In addition, the College provides small business development services. The current enrollment is 5717.34 FTE.
Primarily responsible for organizing and carrying out structured learning processes for students in the Nursing and Practical Nursing programs. In addition, instructors participate in the full range of professional and college-related activities including student advising, curriculum development, professional growth, departmental and college-wide meetings, committee activity, and community involvement.
• The Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is a three-year Registered Nurse program graduating its 30th class in 2019.
• It has an over 98 percent job placement rate.
• The fully approved program has excellent faculty with access to quality simulation labs.
• RCC will break ground on a state-of-the-art 31,750-square-foot health professions training center in spring 2019.
• Students do rotations in the local health system at clinics and two hospital systems, Asante and Providence. Asante is ranked as one of the 15 top health systems in the country.
• Approximately 65 students are enrolled in the ADN program each year, but there are on average over 250 RCC students who have nursing as their career goal.
• RCC also has a Practical Nursing program, a one year-certificate that meets the education requirements to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN).
Compensation & Benefits:
Step placement on the 2019-20 Salary Schedule will be in accordance with education and experience per the current faculty CBA. Education and Experience: Master's degree in nursing with documentation of preparation in curriculum and teaching required. Five years (8,320 hours) of experience as a registered nurse, three of which shall have been in a teaching or administrative position in a nursing education program required. High fidelity simulation, and a broad clinical base including mental health preferred.
Only degrees received from an accredited institution will be accepted: accreditation must be recognized by the office of degree authorization, US Department of Education, as required by ORS 348.609. Final candidate will be required to provide official transcripts for required degree.
License: Current unencumbered Oregon R.N. license (or Oregon RN license by hire date) required. For assignments requiring operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License and proof of an acceptable driving record are required. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver's license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)).
