Bachelor's Degree in related field. Master's Degree preferred. Three years of experience in education, standardized test administration, or related field. Experience in Higher Education preferred. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel to SHSU satellite campus located in The Woodlands. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs moderately complex managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning in the Testing Center.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Assists the Director of Testing in overseeing all day-to-day operations of the Testing Center. Assists with strategic planning, budgeting, and assessment at the department level. Supervises, arranges, and implements weekend and evening testing services/events. Collects, reconciles, and maintains complex data. Prepares financial, statistical, and productivity reports. Supervises, trains, schedules, monitors, and evaluates other employees as assigned. Maintains communication with other departments and divisions. Manages and updates departmental website. Prepares, reviews, revises, and distributes documents and correspondence. Manages Testing Center schedules, approves appropriate leave requests, timesheets, other related administrative documents, and participates in daily test administrations procedures at various intervals. Coordinates and implements various departmental processes. Collaborates with faculty and staff regarding Testing Center services. Assists with directing Testing Center activities and keeps abreast of changing policy and procedural information for various corporate, federal, and state agencies. Reviews, revises, and interprets policies and procedures. Collaborates with the Director of Testing and others in designing, developing, and delivering programs for professional training and development. Responsible for revising and maintaining the Testing Center Operations Handbook and additional training materials. Engages in professional development activities, including but not limited to, memberships in professional organizations, attendance at conferences and workshops, division and department training meetings, and information technology skills and training sessions. Interprets and applies complex directives, policies, regulations, statutes, and procedures, and/or written guidelines for the Testing Center. Attends meetings and business functions on behalf of the Director of Testing. Performs other related duties as assigned.
