Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Summary of Duties:
The Cognitive and Affective Influences in Decision Making (CAIDe) Lab in the Department of Psychology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Assistant 1-Social to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The CAIDe Lab is directed by Dr. Ellen Peters. The Research Assistant 1-Social assists in the general coordination of experiments and data collection using Qualtrics, MediaLab, Mechanical Turk, and other research programs including coordinating lab schedules, maintaining research lab supplies and assisting with supervising and training undergraduate research assistants; compiles results and performs standard descriptive and inferential statistical computations of data generated by both experiment and studies using SPSS, R, or other data analysis software; assists with dissemination of research results including manuscript, report, and grant preparations; maintains lab website using WordPress and Photoshop; performs library research related to experimental techniques; position available for one year with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in a social science research capacity; experience with lab coordination and training research assistants; experience in performing literature reviews and formatting reference lists; experience leading research projects; completion of undergraduate thesis; and proficiency in Qualtrics, Media Lab, Turk Prime and Mechanical Turk, SPSS or R, Photoshop and Wordpress.
Target Salary: $13.50 - $14.00 Hourly
