The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking an Office Associate for its Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesiology (OMFS). OMFS offers a full scope of surgical techniques for a variety of problems of the face and mouth. Many of our faculty surgeons have particular expertise in select sub-specialties, including temporomandibular disorder, nerve repair, orthognathic surgery, and cleft lip and palate repair.
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented.
Functions as an integral member in conjunction with a team of care providers in the College of Dentistry Oral Surgery Division. Provides patient focused customer service and clerical support. Patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all team members. Responsible for checking out patients including treatment presentations and financial estimates, scheduling surgery appointments, implant treatment planning, taking incoming patient calls, and assist with check-in of patients. Provides a variety of clerical support services in collaboration with other members of the patient focused care team. Overall responsibilities include patient scheduling, patient check-out and financial estimates, treatment planning, coordinating with care team, and disseminating information to the care team.
This position requires successful completion of background check(s) and drug and alcohol screening.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.
Six months experience using a personal computers to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; six months experience in office practices and procedures; six months experience in customer service; three months of experience (300 hours of training) in use of word processing equipment.
Knowledge of dental terminology and dental practices and procedures; customer service with patient interaction a plus.
Target Salary: $13.00 - $16.00 Hourly
