The Financial Services unit of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to support the units various compliance activities related to grants accounting for sponsored research projects at The Ohio State University. The individual in this role will serve as an expert for, reconciles, and prepares workpapers for OSP general ledger accounts. The job duties include, prepares and analyzes financial transactions for sponsored projects compliance; reconciles various sponsored research general ledger accounts; resolves problems, prepares detailed analytical reports and makes recommendations and/or corrections; prepares compliance journal entries, monitors incoming journal entries for compliance; process sponsor project deposits; assists in compliance review of subrecipients; processes late payroll expenditure transfers to sponsored projects; reviews and processes sponsored project cash advances; monitors and manages various compliance processes and clearing accounts.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience; considerable experience in an accounting environment; proficiency in the use of excel spreadsheets and all standard office software.
Considerable experience with sponsored project accounting and processes; knowledge of university and OSP policies, rules, regulations; strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service orientation; proven ability to provide a professional environment with all levels of customers inside and outside the university.
Target Salary: $58,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually
