This position will include preparation of rare biologicalsamples, execution of cell biology experiments, and analysis ofmultidimensional imaging and cytometry data. Reporting directly to theprincipal investigator (Dr. Ihrie), the research assistant will be expected tocomplete experiments, data analysis, and preparation of data figures.
The Department of Cell and DevelopmentalBiology is a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment for cutting- edge researchover a scale that spans seven powers of ten, from single molecules to wholeorganisms. The difference between a test tube and a cell is spatio-temporalorganization, and we study molecular, cellular and tissue organization in manyof the laboratories within our department, seeking insights into fundamentalbiological questions and human disease. We are an interactive and highly collaborative department, with a stronggraduate student association, outstanding core facilities, a top- rankeddevelopmental biology program, and exceptionally strong faculty. Recent facultyrecruits are studying cell migration using super-resolution microscopy, singlemolecule analysis of microtubule dynamics, systems biology of intestinalepithelia, stem cell biology, and the regulation of plasma membrane compositionand ageing.
