We are looking for a talented and motivated Clinical research assistant to support two clinical PIs with their research in the Neurology Department. This position offers exciting opportunities to collaborate with many other teams. There may be opportunity to be a part of publications, presentations, and posters.
This Clinical Research Assistant I will be responsible for:
Coordinating various clinical and translational research studies
Recruiting and enrolling study participants in an inpatient and outpatient clinical setting
Collecting and processing of biological specimens
Completing data entry for active studies
Assisting with the analysis of clinical metadata compiled through various databases
Performing a variety of innovative translational and clinical research studies
An opportunity exists, depending on interest and need, for involvement in studies related to the analysis of human sequencing data, as well as translational research techniques.
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's degree in a scientific or health-related field with 0-2 years of clinical and/or lab experience and be willing to stay for at least a 2 years.
The analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles
Experience using Microsoft Excel
Enjoy working in a collaborative setting with existing team members
Effective communication skills with parents/study participants in order to explain the research protocol, to obtain informed consent, to obtain accurate information from them, and to provide them with accurate information
Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle demanding and competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
The ability to take initiative, working independently as well as in a team-based setting.
Interest in sleep and other neurological disorders is a plus.
An easy affect, excellent administrative skills, top-notch communication skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and work as an integral part of a team are also highly desirable skills.
