Do you want to be a part of a team involved in leading a new software institute engaged in groundbreaking discoveries? Do you want to help and support computational and data science driven research? Do you have a background in research administration and finance? If so, Princeton University’s Institute for Computational Science & Engineering (PICSciE) is recruiting a full time Finance and Grant Administrator to join its team.
In this position, you will be an integral member of a team focused on supporting the newly established Institute for Research and Innovation in Software for High Energy Physics (IRIS-HEP) within PICSciE. In this work, you will report directly to the institute manager, support and work closely with the PI, Co-PIs, s, researchers and staff involved in the IRIS-HEP project as well as their external collaborators. You will also provide overall budget, financial and research administration support in the department. This position will assist and serve as a back-up to the institute manager in her absence.
If you have a strong background in finance and research administration, you have the right skill set to make an immediate impact to our organization. Initial appointment will be for 5 years with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in research administration, accounting and finance is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in research administration or grants management (particularly subawards) and finance in an academic setting
Experience with COEUS, Fastlane, Prime (PeopleSoft systems) as well as MS applications such as Excel and other collaborative tools (e.g., Google Drive)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to respond promptly and professionally to requests for assistance from faculty, researchers and staff
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines at short notice
Strong oral and written communication skills
Background in research administration, accounting and finance
