The Assistant Vice President for Student Engagement reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs and provides direction, vision and leadership for Residential Life, the Student Center, Career Services, Service Learning/Civic Engagement, the Chapel and the Office of Student Engagement.
Provide vision and leadership for a residential college program that is anchored by Residential Life, and animated by Student Engagement, Service Learning/Civic Engagement and Career Services in partnership with Academic Affairs.
Provide direction for Residential Life, the Student Center, Career Services, Service Learning/Civic Engagement, the Chapel and the Office of Student Engagement; provide oversight for staff in the assigned areas of responsibilities; and coordinate and deliver professional development for Division of Student Affairs personnel.
Partner with American Campus Communities and Academic Affairs to provide a vibrant and supportive residential experience that affects student success rates; and partner with university and external stakeholders to provide a robust off-campus residential program that affects student success rates.
Keeps the Division abreast of news affecting student affairs practices (i.e. legislation, court cases, agency mandates, professional standards and policies, journal articles, and current events); and maintain a thorough knowledge of federal, state, and university policies and regulations as they relate to student affairs.
Serve as a member of the Vice President's Senior Leadership team; attends and participates in the appropriate staff meetings; represent the Division on various university committees and at university functions when appropriate; and assume responsibility for other special projects and committee work as delegated.
Provide assistance in the development of marketing and promotional strategies for the Division.
Required Education and Experience:
Masters degree in Education, College Student Personnel, Business, Student Services, or related discipline.
Six years of related and progressive experience in an educational setting
