Pay Range: $57,678 or higher depending on education and experience

Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director of International Programs, the Director of International Student, Scholar and Faculty Services (ISSFS) leads and manages a unit that provides immigration advising and visa-related services to the University of Idaho community. This includes serving over 800 international students, 100 scholars, and a growing number of international employees.
The Director of ISSFS works within a team structure to ensure institutional and student/scholar compliance with federal immigration-related regulations, provide expert guidance on hiring international employees, develop innovative services and support programs, and maintain courteous and efficient customer service. ISSFS takes a holistic and integrated approach to assisting international students and scholars with their academic, cultural, and social transition and helps UI attract and retain talented individuals from around the world.
- Masters degree in higher education or a closely-related field - Five (5) or more years of experience working in international higher education - Supervisory experience - Experience as a DSO and/or ARO - Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident to meet federal regulatory requirements
- Three (3) years of leadership experience with international programs - Knowledge of federal immigration regulations for F-1, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, and E-3 visa types and permanent residency petitions - Experience with sponsored student programs (i.e. SACM, IIE, etc.) - Experience advising international students and scholars - Experience working with Banner and SUNAPSIS - Experience analyzing data and generating reports - Experience designing and facilitating workshops - Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies - Strong intercultural communication skills - International experience and/or fluency in a second language
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Must be willing to travel, including overnight travel, work nights and weekends as needed
