Counselor Education is seeking applicants for a full-time temporary position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will require teaching and university service. Primary responsibilities are teaching a range of core counseling courses and focused courses in the school counseling option (3 courses each fall and spring terms); mentoring and supervising students; participating in assessment and program improvement; contributing to department, college, and university service; and participating in professional activities. Evening, off-campus, and summer teaching is to be expected. This position will be expected to teach at both the Radford campus and the Southwest Higher Education Center located in Abingdon, VA.
The successful candidate for this position must have an earned doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited doctoral program. A record of successful teaching at the graduate level in counselor education. The successful candidate will have evidence of commitment to diversity, student success, and active learning. School counseling experience beyond internships is expected.
Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed as K-12 school counselors.
