Performs general accounting functions related to accounts payable and receivable, including billing, monitoring and following up for payment, the reconciliation of credit card sales, facility rental billing, sales and innkeeper's tax verification and reporting. Extracts data from and processes financial documents in internal and external financial information systems (including IUIE, and KFS); reconciles cash banks and transaction and settlement reports; investigates and resolves discrepancies. Maintains records, compiles and collates data and prepares reports of these activities; advises staff members in the correct preparation of internal and external billings and invoices for services. Audits daily, weekly and monthly business reports.
REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and two years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Thorough knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping procedures. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to expeditiously and accurately perform mathematical calculations and the ability to analyze financial records.
Work experience with the university's and department's central information systems including IUIE, KFS, SIS, HMS and CS Gold.
