The Research Coordinator will be responsible for providing diversified administrative and supervisory duties as a member of a team of faculty, scientists, intervention specialists, medical staff, postdocs, and graduate students. S/he will be responsible for assuring the smooth and efficient operation of a muti-site, federally-funded clinical trial aimed at examining the effects of exercise training on cognitive and brain health in older adults. Specific responsibilities will include independently recruiting, screening, and scheduling participants; oversight of study interventions, facilities, and staff; data entry and database management; effective communication with investigators and staff across multiple sites; oversight of research assistants and staff members on study protocol; budgeting and grant processing, hiring, purchasing and other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must be able to work independently and will have considerable responsibilities related to the supervision and oversight of all research staff and protocols. Such responsibilities entail the organization of project staff involved in data collection and participant interaction; database management; liaising with staff at the other intervention sites; and assistance with budgetary matters such as coordination of requisitions, oversight of purchasing and travel reimbursement processes and maintenance of records.
Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with an academic background in Health Sciences, Public Health, Geriatrics, or related field. Demonstrated prior experience coordinating human trials research required.
Skills desired: Successful candidates will be expected to be highly organized; dependable; familiar with Microsoft Office software; have excellent oral and written communication skills; have an ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent and demonstrated interpersonal, time management, and solution focused skills are required.
