Summary: Grand Valley State University’s office of University Communications is looking for a Communications Specialist, who tells the stories of Grand Valley through news releases, and internal and external print and web publications. The successful candidate will meet with university faculty and staff and generate story ideas and media coverage.
Required Qualifications and Education:
A bachelor’s degree
At least three years of experience in professional communications
Ability to write creatively and effectively on a variety of topics
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Experience using multiple platforms to communicate internally and externally
Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work with our already established team
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Communications background in Higher Education is preferred

Cover assigned beats
Generate news releases and internal and external print and Web content
Generate story ideas and media coverage
Salary: Commensurate with experience
