The Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life will assist with the day to day operational management of the department and the chapters at Radford University. They will oversee the community's Standards of Excellence process and program. The Coordinator will directly advise 1-2 of the 3 governing councils on campus (National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council). Additionally, they will coordinate community hazing prevention education, including planning and implementing National Hazing Prevention Week. The Coordinator will advise the Order of Omega Chapter and provide support to general FSL programs (FSL 101 New member programming, risk management, officer trainings and retreats, etc.) The coordinator will serve as a resource for faculty and non-campus advisors to FSL organizations, assist in the planning and implementation of department and university-wide involvement opportunities, and support major department programming efforts as needed.
Evening and Weekend work is not uncommon.
Position requires a flexible, energetic, student-centered and team-oriented student affairs educator who has a demonstrated record of leadership and student advising skills. Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling, or related degree from an accredited institution is required in addition to direct experience working with organizations on a college/university campus. Finally, successful candidates will have demonstrated experience developing and implementing educational initiatives.
Direct experience working with Fraternity and Sorority communities and stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience advising students.
Experience providing leadership programming.
