Responsible for creation, implementation, testing and maintenance of compete customized data collection systems for specific research projects, including clinical research form (CRF) design, input into protocol design, database system implementation, education and oversight of team members, regulatory report generation, data quality control, safety reporting and preliminary data analysis. Duties will include:
Participating in interviews for prospective team members to determine technical skills and overall compatibility with the goals of the research team. Instructing fellows and technicians on use of software and proper research data collection practices. Establishing project-specific communication and reporting systems to keep key team members at various research sites organized and aware of research activities, requirements and techniques for trouble shooting.
Ensuring data quality through internal auditing and automated data checking systems. Gathering information and prepare complex data sets for analysis by the investigators and/or co-investigators. Performing initial statistical analyses.
Preparing regulatory reports and responses. Assisting in study design and the maintenance of regulatory documents, as well as assist in and respond to any external review of research information. Designing C R F s to facilitate complete and correct collection of all data.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, mathematics or other related field, plus 6 months of related experience. Strong computer skills and exposure to relational database management systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge on procedures specified in the standard operating procedure and that the physician performs. Possess the ability to work effectively in teams and groups and to apply continuing quality improvement tools appropriately. Good organization and judgment skills, excellent verbal and written skills. PCs, software especially Stata Software for data entry and analysis. Using SQL Server, ASP, .NET and other web application software, design data management systems including data entry, edit report generation and clean-up procedures.
