Responsible for working with patients, students and faculty to coordinate and resolve questions regarding the collection of information and monies for the services provided by the school. Post patient/insurance payments and generate secondary insurance claims.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
Receive payments and enter billing data.
Patient/faculty/staff account resolution.
Reconcile daily reports for closing out day's business.
Analyze reports for rebilling.
Verify and communicate patient Medicaid/insurance eligibility.
Other projects/duties as assigned.
REQUIRED: High School Diploma, plus 1 year of related customer service or cashiering experience.
Must have computer experience, and general understanding of dental and medical terms including third party billing. Data entry, typing, insurance and Medicaid knowledge, general office procedures, excellent communications skills, terminal digit, numeric and alpha filing, cash receipts. Willingness to cross-train into other work areas including patient admitting and insurance. Work in a busy office with many interruptions. Ability to interact daily with numerous students, patients, co-workers and doctors. Understanding of customer service, ability to follow service standards, and express financial obligation to patients. Ability to follow through with patient accounts is necessary to reach resolution
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time and moving stacks of charts. Repetitive motions. Must be able to view computer screen and insurance explanations of benefits. Extensive phone use. Ability to communicate instructions in a setting with much noise. Regular attendance.
