The Assistant Director of Student Life for Multicultural Programs supports the creation of an inclusive campus environment. This position provides advocacy and support for historically underrepresented and marginalized student populations and is responsible for the development of programs that assist in their retention and matriculation. Additionally, this position is tasked with creating programs, events, and workshops that increase the campus community's understanding of diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
- Plans and evaluates cultural events, including history week/month programs. Work with student organizations, departments, and community partners to plan and implement educational workshops, cultural performances, and other experiences that raise awareness, celebrate, and support diversity and inclusion.
- Responsible for oversight of Multicultural Programs budget and allocation of funding for student-sponsored multicultural programs.
- Provides support to identity affirming/affinity student organizations including Black Student Leaders (BSL), Hispanic Awareness Association (HM), and Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA). Supports Faith Council comprised of faith, spirituality, and belief-based registered student organizations, including coordination of fall and spring
