The Assistant Director will coordinate opportunities for community engagement, service learning and leadership development for students. This position will:
Plan, coordinate and implement community engagement/service learning opportunities both on and off campus
Noble Niner Institute development and implementation
Instruct one academic leadership course
Supervise 4-5 student interns
Plan and implement Alternative Service Break trips
Work with National Volunteer Week
Minimum Experience / Education:
Master's Degree with major emphasis on coursework in higher education administration, student personnel services, counseling or other related field and one year of experience in the student services or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Strong preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree in student personnel or higher education administration and two plus years of direct experience.
Prior experience working with college students in leadership and community engagement; academic course instruction, experience in group advisement, training and development, event planning, and program development is essential.
Must have an understanding of student development theory, an understanding of working with groups and group dynamics, interpersonal skills to develop solid working relationships, organizational skills, administrative skills, event planning and logistics skills and experience as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and be detail oriented.
