Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II for the Integrated Health Services Program at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The Mental Health Clinician II is the primary assessor and behavioral health service provider for consumers receiving services in the medical practice. Provides administrative and clinical leadership, ensures adherence to regulatory and documentation standards, and provides services and/or facilitates referrals for consumers who will require ongoing treatment.
Provides assessments in accordance with professional and agency standards of quality and safety and exhibits the ability to use validated tools (i.e. Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9, etc.).
Involves the consumer and their family or other support system in developing achievable, understandable, and person-centered care plans.
In collaboration with supervisor and other clinical staff, identifies appropriate resources for consumers and families/support system based on assessed needs.
As needed, provides individual, group and/or family therapy/counseling sessions for consumers/families.
Collaborates with other treatment providers to plan treatment interventions which focus on consumer strengths.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in a mental health discipline plus two (2) years post master's experience in the mental health field, or Doctorate Degree.
Licensed in a mental health discipline (i.e. LSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, psychology license).
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for outreach.
Post graduate experience working with adults in a crisis setting.
Experience with the standards diagnostic manual and appropriate diagnostic skills.
A Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC)/Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in addition to clinical license.
Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish).
