Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Visiting Researcher, for the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research.
Working in the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research on research involving structured interviewing and other data collection with community members, parents, adolescents, government officials, tenants, landlords and others, responsibilities involve managing logistics for ongoing studies, recruitment, enrollment and data management and preparation, data analysis and writing for grant proposals and publishable articles.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Reviews and organizes data.
Conducts literature reviews.
Codes data and conducts data analyses
Prepares drafts of literature reviews and data analyses for reports, presentations and peer-reviewed articles.
Maintains accessible catalogue of surveys and relevant instruments used in surveys.
Serves as resource to researchers on the scope and methods of the surveys including target populations, sampling methods, survey domains, topics and potential sources of error.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A Bachelors' Degree in a scientific/social sciences/humanities/related discipline.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience and familiarity with research on aging populations.
Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Must have effective client service skills.
Masters' or advanced degree.
Working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, and database and analytical software for data analyses.
