Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Assistant II for SAS- Lab for Computer Science Research. This position is a main point of contact that provides administrative and business support for members of the Lab for Computer Science Research (LCSR) as well as business support for DCS and some admin support to the LCSR Director.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides coordination assistance both to financial, data and department operations as well as auxiliary services to project accounting in self-directing role.
Serves as a liaison between multiple department functions, coordinating hourly payroll, grant proposals and management, data, department facilities, space assignments and allocations.
Uses Cornerstone, Rutgers Marketplace (SciQuest) process all purchase orders, check requests, and foreign national payments.
Processes in Cornerstone Expense Management all expense reimbursements.
Coordinates grant post-award management, reconciliation and troubleshooting.
Serves as department resource for expense management.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business admin or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer literacy
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and database functions
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and deadlines
Prefers two years of relevant experience and a comprehensive knowledge of general account principles and practices – especially with federal agencies.
Experience with Cornerstone
Completion of or enrolled in the Business/Accounting Certification program as outlined by the University is helpful.

Must possess the ability to work effectively in a fast pace environment of multiple concurrent tasks.
