The Office and Communications Coordinator assists in providing a welcoming, diverse and inclusive environment at Gonzaga in which the dignity and heritage of every individual in our community is honored and respected. The incumbent performs diverse administrative and project support duties requiring comprehensive experience, skill and knowledge of professional office and organizational practices. This position is a member Office of Diversity and reports to the Assistant Provost. The position works both independently and collaboratively, and must multitask between the responsibilities of communication, office management, data coordination and project support/assistance. This position supports student, faculty and staff diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Bachelor's degree in communications studies, public relations, journalism and/or minors in social justice, women’s and gender studies, ethnic studies or related field
Three years' experience in roles involving office management
Demonstrated cultural fluency, including cultural self-awareness, cultural other-awareness and adaptations
Demonstrated experience working with people who identify within diverse and/or minority and/or marginalized populations including: race, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, disability
Demonstrated knowledge of coordinating a dynamic office environment
Proven ability to multi-task with competing demands/priorities
Demonstrated proficiency with verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
