The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the procurement and coordination of a wide variety of supplies, equipment, and services. Issues purchase, blanket, and change orders for goods and services as assigned within the Supply Chain Management Information System (Premier Connect). Develops sources of supply, negotiates and establishes price, payment, delivery and other terms; documents source selection and price reasonableness. Directs end-users to existing suppliers and contracts.
Prepares and administers routine solicitations (RFQ) or otherwise obtains competition; analyzes quotes. Takes or recommends actions to prevent and independently resolve purchase order, payment, and delivery issues according to applicable policies and procedures and terms and conditions. Creates and maintains files and other documentation to assure compliance with audit, UC, state, and other requirements. Adheres to HIPAA and BAA requirements. Assists Senior Buyers with work assignments and other procurement related functions.
Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration; or equivalent experience/training.
A minimum of two (2+) or more years of relevant experience.
Strong Microsoft Office experience (proficiency in Excel).
Experience and proven success in skills necessary to evaluate the quality and cost effectiveness of purchasing options.
One (1) year of previous purchasing experience in a large, complex healthcare system.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
