The Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study (ADCS) consists of 7 cores, 22 committees, 37 research sites that are members of the consortium/Steering Committee, and an additional 40 or more research sites located across the U.S. and Canada that participate in one of more trials coordinated by the ADCS. Annual funding for the ADCS grant is approximately $10 million. The ADCS provides expertise in developing Alzheimer's disease related protocols and is the coordinating center for multiple clinical trials of varying sizes and complexity under subcontracts funded by NIH and clinical trial agreements with industry.
The Administrative Coordinator will provide high-level administrative support to the ADCS Compound Selection Committee comprised of 14 plus members from both academic institutions and industry, across the United States. This working group reviews, evaluates, and prioritizes compounds for development and potential collaboration with the ADCS. The Compound Selection Committee ensures that the most promising agents with substantial potential for AD treatment are selected for trials and to optimize learning about drug development for AD and related disorders. Administrative support will also be provided to various Sub-Committees, new business and industry partners, and to the PI/Director of the Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study (ADCS), which requires tact, political acumen, diplomacy, and discretion on a wide-variety of complex and sensitive matters.
The incumbent will provide analysis, triage correspondence and telephone calls, take detailed meeting minutes, draft, edit, and proofread correspondence, and conduct special projects. The incumbent will be responsible for liaising with internal and external committee members, organizing all aspects of meeting arrangements including: managing complex calendars, scheduling and coordinating logistics for meetings and special events including video conferencing (Zoom), travel arrangements and reimbursements. Provides administrative support on projects as assigned, which include directed analysis, research writing, and report and presentation preparation. Will work closely with, and serve as a back-up to other faculty and administrative team members.

Demonstrated excellent writing, editing, spelling and proofreading skills including knowledge of proper formats, grammar, structure, and content to draft letters and memos independently.
Advanced organizational, project management, and time management skills including ability to determine appropriate priorities, complete projects accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of attention to detail, despite frequent interruption, and competing deadlines and changing priorities.
Proficient in computer software programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, email, automated calendaring systems) and programs such as internet browser applications. Experience to conduct searches on the internet.
Strong demonstrated working knowledge of MyTravel, MyPayments, Marketplace and reference software packages such as EndNote.
Experience using computer spreadsheets and database applications for report generation. Ability to research, obtain, and organize information to produce concise reports using relational databases.
Superior keyboard/typing skills including knowledge of proper formats/styles for manuscripts, forms and bibliographies, including overall accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to understand and interpret, without guidance or supervision, complex general policy guidelines, making independent decisions and initiating action. Ability to plan and implement new procedures.
Excellence in professional interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to successfully interact with people in various levels of position, diverse cultures and backgrounds, principal investigators, industry executives/representatives, faculty, staff and clinical patients.
