Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and the Medical Director in the assigned department, the incumbent performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity.
Duties include prioritizing and assisting in patient message processing via phone, assisting with MyChart patient messages, patient education, assisting with medication refills, assisting with prior authorizations, follow-up on tests ordered for patients, and assisting with completion of forms (disability, driving, FMLA, etc).
This position requires initiative and the ability to prioritize critical demands. We are seeking a person who interacts well in a team environment, is compassionate, and strives to meet the needs of our patient population.
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
Previous experience working in a healthcare setting.
Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands and work in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Assisting with medication refills.
Ambulatory clinic experience.
At least 1 year experience in Neurosciences.
Experience with epilepsy patients.
Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
Willing to work overtime as required.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
