Harvard University's Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering in Boston is seeking a talented individual to work as a Research Assistant II in Peng Yin's lab. The lab specializes in developing and applying DNA-based technology, including the application of DNA probes to transform biomolecular imaging and understand nano-scale organization. Recent techniques developed there include super-resolution and highly multiplexed DNA-based optical imaging methods, as well as complementary methods of recording macromolecular features in synthetic DNA for sequencing readout. The successful candidate may work on a variety of these
College background or equivalent work experience in Biology, Immunology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Engineering or related field. One to two years directly related work experience. Higher education may count toward years of experience.
2+ years of research experience, preferably including experience with cell culture, molecular biology protocols (e.g., PCR), biochemistry protocols (e.g., antibody conjugations, purifications), tissue processing, in situ staining protocols (IF, IHC, FISH), fluorescence microscopy, and/or image analysis
Good laboratory practices, attention to detail
Experience in planning experiments and adjusting protocols, organizing data, and maintenance of lab notebook
Competence in time management and working independently to achieve specific research milestones
Effective communication (oral and written) skills and management of interactions with multiple lab members
Basic computer skills
