The Research Associate will carry out computational and theoretical chemistry research on transition metal and heavy element chemistry using DFT and ab initio single-reference and multi-reference methods, including relativistic methods, towards improved description of ground and excited states of such species. The work will be done in the research group of Professor Angela K. Wilson.
Doctorate -Chemistry or closely related field
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field, with primary doctoral work in computational or theoretical chemistry. Experience with popular commercial and/or public domain codes is required.
Primary graduate school research experience working in one or more of the following areas: ab initio quantum mechanics, with experience in thermochemical approaches strongly preferred. Experience in ab initio or DFT methods is preferred. Development experience with python, FORTRAN, C, or C++ is strongly preferred.
