The successful candidate will work in a high energy environment in the Undergraduate Academic Services office which serves approximately 6500 undergraduate students. Tasks will include: support for college activities (New Student Orientation, undergraduate admission process, Commencement among others) website maintenance; transfer course credits process; BUS course support; supervise, hire, handle terminations for office student employees; review and handle course overrides for four departments. The individual will effectively interact with students, university personnel and the public to provide information and services; work independently and as part of a team to complete work with frequent interruptions.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation and webpage software; typing and filing; maintain accounting ledgers; may require knowledge of technical or medical terminology and/or technical knowledge or training related to the field of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years of experience working in a professional office setting; knowledge of university policies/procedures; knowledge of Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) including KFS and SAP; strong computer skills which includes proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and Access), Adobe Acrobat, In-Design, Outlook, Google Docs and Qualtrics survey system; competency in the use of the Student Information Systems (SIS) and Registrar’s Office systems and forms; experience with event support; skill in administrative support; proofreading; interpersonal skills that reflect courtesy, tactfulness and respect toward others in all situations; ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion, especially when handling confidential and sensitive data; ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines with frequent interruptions; a self-starter whose strengths include strong organizational skills, creative thinking, problem solving and teamwork; strong attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
