Western Kentucky University, Intramural and Recreational Sports - Health and Fitness Lab, is seeking a Part-time Massage Therapist. Hours will be dependent on availability and appointment schedule, but will be within office hours of 8am to 6pm Monday through Friday. The Health and Fitness Lab will handle all bookings, financial transactions, marketing, and laundry for this position, while the therapist focuses on the massage and client experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Provides consistent professional massages in accordance with certification practices including Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques
Maintains a professional presence with all clients and effectively informs and educates them about specific wellness concerns
Be on time for all appointments and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service
Performs prep work, properly cleans and resets the room as required (laundering the linens is provided by the facility) and completes SOAP notes on each client per massage industry standards.
Have complete knowledge and understanding of all massages offered
Posses the ability to work without direct supervision
Maintains a positive attitude and contributes toward a quality work environment
All appointment scheduling, supplies, and equipment are provided
Certificate, diploma, or degree in Massage Therapy
Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Kentucky
One year of relevant experience
Expected Salary: $20.00/hr
