Job Description Summary
The Assistant Director of Residential Learning, Leadership and Programming is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position reporting to the Associate Director of Residence Life. The Assistant Director of Residential Learning, Leadership and Programming works closely with other professionals in the administration and management of a comprehensive residence life and housing program that serves 4000+ on-campus students. Has responsibility for general administration and assistance in the management of educational programmatic development, residential learning communities, student staff selection, training and recruitment efforts.
Residential Learning and Training Support - 40%
Oversee and manage departmental paraprofessional staff training programs and initiatives, including maintaining the all online training modules and resources.
Oversee and manage departmental paraprofessional staff recruitment initiatives, including coordinating staff interviews, selection, and managing all related staff placement day processes and procedures.
Implement and manage a comprehensive socio-cultural, civic, and academic residential living-learning model based off current and relevant trends.
Work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Residence Life to implement and manage the residential Community Development structure and any additional residential learning initiatives to achieve desired learning outcomes.
Actively maintain appropriate staff resources including the RA Workbook, associated staff newsletters and provide creative and logistical support for community development strategies, as needed.
Leadership, Advising and Programming - 20%
Responsible for large scale programmatic events associated with First Six Weeks, Rake Forest, and Pigskin Pigout in collaboration with the Resident Student Association, National Residence Hall Honorary, and New Student Programs.
Responsible for the vision and direction of a comprehensive development plan for student staff based on ongoing assessment and best practices.
