The Department of Psychiatry in the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) is seeking a Psychiatrist or Psychologist with specialty interest in mood disorders to join our faculty. Appointment will be on the non-tenure clinical track, open rank. Primary responsibilities will include patient care in the Mood Disorders Center outpatient specialty clinics or inpatient psychiatry mood disorders unit, supervision of residents and medical students. The position is a 1.0 FTE and consists of 80% clinical time and 20% academic time, with the latter devoted to scholarly pursuits which may include research and teaching.
The Mood Disorders Center is led by Jess Fiedorowicz, MD, PhD and Amanda Miller, LMSW. The University of Iowa Mood Disorders Center is active site in the National Network of Depression Centers. The Center has a treatment including mood disorders outpatient, an inpatient mood disorders service, mood disorders partial hospital program, treatment refractory mood disorder consultation clinic, women's wellness service, TMS and ECT programs, targeted psychotherapy workshops, and is starting a ketamine infusion program. The Center collaborates with the Iowa Neuroscience Institute to support research initiatives across the University. Research programs include those focused on molecular biology, genetics, proteomics, physiology, brain imaging, and clinical trials in mood disorders. Additionally, the Mood Disorders Center is highly involved in community efforts to increase access to care and reduce the burden of stigma.
