Eligibility Verification, Pre-Authorization \u2022 Ensures that each high liability patient contact has a valid Epic referral attached to the appointment. \u2022 Ensures any services requiring pre-authorization are requested within established time frames. Re-prioritizes resources when necessary to ensure metrics are met. \u2022 Ensures all eligibility verification and pre-authorization information is documented accurately in the Epic referral. \u2022 Reviews denials for lack of pre-authorization to attempt to resolve the issue. Recommends changes to processes in order to improve denial rates.
Staff Development \u2022 Ensures that each employee demonstrates competencies in the workflows they are responsible for. \u2022 Provides cross training opportunities to promote growth and team flexibility. \u2022 Manages lead workers and ensures they receive training and development opportunities to more effectively manage their workloads.
Department / Practice Communication and Management \u2022 Serves as the first line of communication with the practices/departments to answer questions and trouble shoot issues.
Quality Improvement \u2022 Performs quality assurance audits for the employees he/she supervises. Patient Liability Estimation \u2022 Works with staff to provide patients with estimate of their potential cost of care using the Epic pricing tool and patient liability estimator.
