The Environmental Compliance Program Manager will provide EH&S services under the direction of the Manager \u2013 Environmental Protection. This position works independently and acts as an advanced professional and technical resource in a specialized and detailed capacity, providing guidance, review, and final determination/resolution in assigned areas of responsibility to determine conformity with federal and state regulations and OHSU policies. With a focus on Environmental Compliance, this position will have programmatic duties that span across all mission areas in:
Environmental compliance, including collection and submission of samples and data, records maintenance, developing hazard reduction plans and programs, providing consultation and monitoring, permit management for air and stormwater/wastewater, hazardous materials, SPCC, underground storage tanks, etc.
Promote compliance with regulatory standards, including integration with overall regulatory activities.
Hazardous waste compliance, including proper classification, collection, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemical wastes, records maintenance, and monitoring;
Assist with air quality investigations, exposure monitoring, risk assessments, records maintenance, and monitoring;
Asbestos and Lead program oversight and management;
Representation of OHSU during regulatory inspections;
Performing timely and accurate assessments in accordance with regulatory, policy, and process requirements;
Serving as lead in and delivering professional training and education;
Serving as an advanced professional resource for the OHSU Community in safety, compliance and integrity; and
Partnering with leadership in development, maintenance, and improvement of OHSU policies, SOPs, and technologies in order to maximize compliance, efficiency, and reflect current trends.
