Exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of researchers and clinicians at Boston Children's Hospital as a member of the Translational Neuroscience Center. Our interdisciplinary Center aims to improve the lives of children and adolescents through innovative clinical programs; outstanding basic science; and efficient translation of novel ideas into practical tools for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of childhood diseases. The Clinical Research Assistant I will work closely with clinicians and investigators within the Fragile X Program and Autism Spectrum Center to conduct clinical research. This is a unique position working with a dynamic research team at a nationally-renowned institution.
This Clinical Research Assistant I will be responsible for:
Assisting the Principal Investigator and senior team leaders in the development, implementation, and coordination of the projects.
Maintaining day-to-day operations of innovative clinical trials and assisting with a nationwide autism project.
Developing recruitment strategies within the hospital clinics and the outside community, enrolling research participants in studies, and facilitating sample collection and distribution.
Collecting and recording study data from participant interviews and medical records, and assisting with the development and maintenance of study files and databases. Preparing for and assisting with monitoring visits.
Coordinating and actively participating in on-site team meetings and site coordinator conference calls.
Participating in activities to ensure ongoing institutional and regulatory approval of studies including IRB submissions and governmental approvals.
Providing assistance to PI and project managers with compilation of study progress reports and publications.
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's degree in a scientific or heath related field. Clinical research experience preferred.
Exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities, with good attention to detail.
The ability to take initiative and work with minimal direct supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to provide critical information to participants and study team members.
A two year commitment is highly preferred.
