Job Requisition Number: 26571. The Kumar Laboratory in the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences is an internationally recognized leader in conducting research at the interface of cell biology and engineering. The laboratory is especially well known for its efforts to investigate the role of biophysical inputs in controlling cell and tissue function, including the role of mechanical force in the regulation of tumor and stem cell behavior. The Kumar Laboratory has also been very active in the development and use of materials technologies that can mimic and/or influence cellular function. The laboratory uses a variety of experimental and computational methodologies, including traditional molecular/cell biology approaches, optical and atomic force microscopy, materials synthesis and characterization, and animal models.
