The Communications Coordinator is responsible for: writing, editing, and coordinating the production and design of informational and promotional materials, presentations, and special events; serves as liasion for general media and story requests from departments, centers, institutes, and units.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three years of communications and/or marketing experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated high attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Education and Experience:
Four years of communications and/or marketing experience
Produces written content regularly that supports constituentsâ™ (i.e. donors, former students, etc.) engagement in alignment with the collegeâ™s fundraising and programmatic goals. Serves as a media point-of-contact for general media (local, national, and international) and story requests from departments/centers/institutes/units
Acts as a copy editor for materials to ensure consistent messaging and to enforce grammatical rules
Coordinates final drafts with manager of strategic communications and development prior to publication
Coordinates and writes college stories for college website/social media platforms, Texas A&M Universityâ™s Marketing and Communications, and general media
Facilitates and participates in media coverage for college events
Coordinates photo shoots, graphics, and social media posts for stories
Supports the strategic communications manager by overseeing the tactical execution of news releases, advertisements, and special interest and research stories from conception to dissemination
Oversees ticketing system and maintains project schedule to ensure deadlines are met
Assists in developing and implementing effective outreach through social media
Assists with developing content for the colleges website
Monitors the colleges brand identity across print and web materials. Performs other duties as assigned
