Technician I - Service Lab - Performs routine diagnostic assays to evaluate gastrointestinal function in veterinary patients. Provides primary technical assistance to veterinary faculty in the area of small animal gastrointestinal function and disease.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Other Requirements or Other Factors:
Must not have inhibiting allergies or sensitivities to organic compounds solvents and dogs or cats.
One year in scientific research, clinical, operational, or experimental work.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to use routine lab equipment, spectrophotometer, pH meters, etc.
Performs routine diagnostic assays [enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assays (ELISA), chemiluminescence assays, spectrophotometric assays, and radioimmunoassays (RIA)] to evaluate gastrointestinal function in veterinary patients.
Provides primary technical research assistance to veterinary faculty in the area of small animal gastrointestinal.
Enters data into microcomputer.
Assists in the supervision of student employees in the laboratory. Performs other duties as assigned.
