The Department of Computer Science & Information Systems is seeking an individual to lead and advance cybersecurity within the department. The successful candidate shall have significant research and/or industry experience in a cybersecurity area such as computing, physical systems, healthcare infrastructure, manufacturing, or energy sectors. The position is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track / tenured position, at the Associate Professor rank. The successful candidate will be required to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses; advise and mentor graduate students; develop an externally funded research program; seek to establish industry partnerships; disseminate knowledge through presentations and publications; participate in all aspects of the departmentâ™s and collegeâ™s activities; and serve the profession. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with other researchers within the department, college, and across the university.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership in the area of cybersecurity within the department
Teach both undergraduate and graduate cybersecurity and computer science courses
As needed, assist in and/or lead the development of new undergraduate and/or graduate courses
As needed, assist in and/or lead the development of new cybersecurity graduate certificates
Establish a strong publication record
Disseminate knowledge through presentations and publications
Actively seek and attract extramural funding and industry funded partnerships
Establish a network within the regional industry
Advise and mentor graduate students
Serve on selected departmental, college and university committees
Participate in all aspects of the departmentâ™s and collegeâ™s activities
Education: Earned doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, cybersecurity, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Academic background commensurate with the rank of associate professor or higher. Proven experience record in an area of cybersecurity.
Ability to: Multitask and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students and others with varying cultures and backgrounds.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated record of obtaining grants and/or extramural funding in an area of cybersecurity. Demonstrated industry experience in an area of cybersecurity. Experience with and/or working knowledge of ABET accreditation. Leadership responsibilities within a graduate computer science and/or cybersecurity program. At least one year of teaching experience at the higher education level with evidence of teaching excellence.
